Stapleton-Price Ltd, Privacy Policy and
General Statement.

When you visit any of our sites, certain information may be collected about you and your computer.   In this brief statement we will try to clearly explain what information may have been collected during your visit to our sites.

We may not collect any information about you at all, it entirely depends on what you do whilst you are visiting our site!

Firstly, if you visit our home pages, there are certain forms that you can fill in and submit to us for information about our products and services, such as our "Feedback form". You will be shown all the details you are about to submit as you type them in on the form and you have the option whether or not to press the "submit" button at the end of your typing.  Once you have clicked on the submit button, you will be shown what you information you have submitted to us, however, at this stage you will not be able to change or cancel it.   These forms collect no other data about you, other than that shown to you before you submit it, the time and date and IP address that your ISP has assigned to you for that transaction. We may from time to time collect additional details from the transaction, to prevent fraud and misuse of the system.  This Data is held for no longer than 12 months, unless Court action is pending, and is covered by our entry with the Information Commissioner under the Data Protection Act.

Secondly, throughout the site, there are various email links to our different departments.   These are normal email links, and all the emails that you send to us will contain the normal headers and trailers that all emails contain in the background.   However, we do not formally collect this information in any way, other than to reply to your email.  We do, however, archive all our email for a minimum period of ten years.   The email is archived onto CD or DVD and kept in a secure and fireproof safe in the basement of our registered offices as well as another copy in a secure and fireproof safe off the company premises.   You may at any time, request full details of what information we keep about you by sending an email to support@stapleton-price.com Unless you are a a member of the Police or similar body, there is a nominal administration charge of £10 per enquiry, payable in advance.

Thirdly, cookies.  No, they are not something you eat, they are a small text file that is kept on your PC, if, cookies are enabled within your browser.
A cookie is information that a Web site puts on your hard disk so that it can remember something about you at a later time.   We use cookies to determine what parts of the sites are visited the most etc, so that we can improve our service to you.
They are controlled and used by us and our web counter, to see how many visitors we have had to our website and if they return at a later date.   It also records which Country you come from, what time of day you visit and one or two other items that are interesting for us "techies", like your IP address. It is worth mentioning that most modern websites leave cookies on your PC, and you can remove them at any time you like, if you follow the instructions that appear in our "Help" section of the main Stapleton-Price website at www.stapleton-price.com.  There are also commercial programs that will block or delete them for you, however, you have to pay for most of those, our advice is free!!
If you would like further details about the cookies that our servers or our counters place on your PC, then visit www.fxweb.com as all our counters are controlled and run by them on our behalf, or go to a popular search engine and type in the word cookies to learn more about them.

On our website we have protected pages, you may only visit these only if you have a username and password issued to you by us during one of our many courses.  These pages contain Homework and Notes to go with the course that you are on.   A lot of work has gone into the course notes that accompany our courses and therefore we want to protect them as much as we can from copyright theft.  Therefore these pages are considered by us as Private Property and not for the general surfing public. 

Because we consider them as Private Property they are not covered by our Privacy Policy.  If you require more information about this subject, contact us and we may answer your questions.  However, those parts of the website are available only to people with usernames and passwords and are clearly marked.

We hope that this covers just about everything.   Basically, we collect no more data than is necessary to reply to your emails or submitted forms, to maintain the security and integrity of our websites and the information that you send to us.  However, as with all our material, if you have any questions, then ask, we will always try and help you.
